Each morning I step out of my house and into my garden where I work from a beautiful garden room. Whilst I work I can hear the bamboo swishing and the birds singing, I feel very lucky.
Over the years as I have become a little older, the therapies I have chosen have been with that in mind. Therapies and treatments to calm and support total body and mind wellbeing.
Its been the same with yoga, I didn't train as a yoga teacher even though I had been a yoga enthusiast for over 25 years, until I was 49.
I attained my 500hr hatha Yoga teacher accreditation just before my 51st birthday. It was confidence as I got older and the need to move deeper into this incredible practice ,science and philosophy at a point in life that I needed extra support.
Training as a Menopause yoga teacher in 2022 was a life enhancing experience, not only to help myself as I move through this phase of my life but to have the privilege to share these informative and empowering classes with other women as they move through their own menopause.
Yoga really is for everybody and the many benefits are experienced from day one, giving yourself the space to be present, to explore the breath. to connect back in with the body and to rest impacts life not only on the yoga mat but shines out into daily life.
FYI I cant get my leg over my head, its ok if you can't touch your toes, its fine if you pass wind in a yoga class, laugh or cry, you can wear what you want too no lycra required.
